RNMA Resumes Operations and Launches Next Phase of Network Activity

ITHACA, NY – November 17, 2025 The AFRL Regional Network – Mid-Atlantic (RNMA) is pleased to share that the recent stop-work order has been lifted, allowing the Network to begin transitioning back into full operations. While a few final administrative items are being completed, we expect to resume normal execution in the immediate term.

As RNMA restarts activities, our near-term focus is centered on reactivating paused projects, reengaging with principal investigators and partners across the Network, and reestablishing collaboration with our colleagues at the Air Force Research Laboratory. This includes reconnecting project teams, reviewing timelines, and ensuring that initiatives move forward efficiently following the pause.

We are also preparing to resume the Spring Partnership Funding selection process that was previously paused. Applicants will be contacted directly with updated timing and next steps as the process is re-initiated. In parallel, the Network is working with AFRL leadership to confirm and announce details for an upcoming Spring 2026 Partnership Funding Cycle, which is expected to launch earlier in the year than in past cycles.

To support the Network’s continued growth and coordination, RNMA is currently recruiting for a Program Director who will help guide execution, strengthen partnerships, and expand the Network’s regional impact.

In addition, the RNMA team is updating its impact reporting to better capture outcomes from past and current projects across the ecosystem. These efforts will help ensure the Network continues to demonstrate measurable value to its partners, stakeholders, and the broader innovation community.

During the recent pause, we also saw the retirement of valued colleagues David Jung and Mike Beeching. We are grateful for their contributions and look forward to sharing additional staffing updates as the Network moves forward.

The RNMA team is excited to reengage with our academic, industry, and government partners and to continue advancing collaboration, technology development, and dual-use innovation across the Mid-Atlantic region.
